Hudspeth County sheriff's office spokesman Rusty Flemming told the Associated Press that Fiona Apple was released Thursday on a $10,000 bond. Apple "had a little tiny amount of pot and hash," according to Fleming. Marijuana possession in small amounts is a misdemeanor, while hashish in any quantity is a felony in Texas.

Fiona Apple was arrested on Wednesday at a border stop in Sierra Blanca, Texas, after hashish was found on her tour bus. The 35-year-old "Criminal" singer is currently being held at a jail in Hudspeth County, according to TMZ.
The website noted that stars such as Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg and Armie Hammer have been arrested in Sierra Blanca for drugs in the past.
Apple's tour included a stop at the Calvin Theatre in Northampton three months ago.
In June, she released the album “The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do.”
