Leslie Knope, the lovable Pawnee, Ind. city councilwoman from NBC's "Parks & Recreation" played by Amy Poehler, came face-to-face with her celebrity crush on Thursday night's episode.
"Oh, Mr. Vice President, I am deeply flattered, but there's no way that I could take over Madam Secretary Clinton's position."
Leslie Knope, the lovable Pawnee, Ind. city councilwoman from NBC's "Parks & Recreation" played by Amy Poehler, came face-to-face with her celebrity crush on Thursday night's episode. The meeting was arranged by her fiance, Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott,) a congressional campaign manager, as an engagement present.
"I had to pull a few strings," Wyatt says before he introduces Knope to Biden. "A few...hundred strings."
Knope giggles uncontrollably, stammers and even strokes the Vice President's face and hands as Biden praises her service to Pawnee and Indiana. As Wyatt ushers her out the door, she issues a stern warning to a Secret Service agent.
"You don't let anything happen to him, you understand me?" she demands. "He is precious cargo!"
News of the cameo was revealed after the Nov. 6 election, to fans' delight. (Knope's crush became a running gag on the show, after she revealed in an earlier season that her ideal man "has the brains of George Clooney in the body of Joe Biden.") Biden shot the scene back in July, according to Entertainment Weekly.
