Martin Fay, one of the founding members of The Chieftain, has died at the age of 76.
The Irish musical group announced his passing on Wednesday on their website. "Martin’s memory and music will be with The Chieftains always. He will be dearly missed."
He was one of the original members of the group formed by piper Paddy Maloney in 1962. Fay stopped touring with the group in 2001, making only occasional appearances until his retirement in 2002.
