Some of the Valley's most exciting young musicians will be on display Sunday, Dec. 2, at the Iron Horse Music Hall, where The Collective Music Group (TCMG) will hold its second Valley Rising Compilation Album with a corresponding release party. The show begins at 7 p.m.

Jamie Kent & The Options return from one of the prestigious Los Angeles ASCAP songwriting workshops, and will certainly lend a jolt to the evening, which includes Lux Duluxe, Doug Ratner & The Watchmen, And The Kids and Billy Keane. Wishbone Zoe, Vesuveo, Matt Gibbs, Walking Ghosts and John Brandoli round out the lineup.

According to TCMG marketing director Robyn Lee, the 2012 Valley Rising event differs a bit from last year's -- and she is thrilled with the results.

"Our goal is to celebrate these artists by getting their work into as many hands as possible," she said. "As a result, while last year we sold a CD, this year, the music will be offered in the form of a digital download card, included with the price of admission.

" If you can't make it to the show you can also pick up your copy at locations such as Turn It Up, Jackson and Connor and Downtown Sounds in Northampton or Mocha Maya's in Shelburne Falls," Lee added. "The complete list of participating locations will be available online and only a limited amount will be available."

According to TCMG's release, the group "aims to create a strong collective of independent musicians all working full time to turn their passion into a career. ... This will allow these artists to share fans, business ideas, shows, and to collaborate on future musical endeavors."

Tickets for the show are $12.50 in advance and $15 at the door, and can be purchased online at IHEG.com.

Proceeds from album sales will benefit the artists, as well as the Northampton Community Music Center.
