Radio airplay of Ke$ha's song "Die Young" has plummeted after Friday's school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.
"Die Young" clocked in at No. 3 on the radio playlists on Friday, the day of the shooting, reaching 167 million listeners nationwide. By Monday, the song dropped to 148 million listeners, according to data compiled by Mediabase, a company that tracks radio airplay.
An industry expert told TMZ that a drop of that size is extremely rare. The last time a song plummeted that quickly occurred when the Dixie Chicks were dropped from country radio playlists after insulting President Bush in March 2003.
