Hollywood has had a fantastic year with more than $10 billion in tickets sales. Here are the five box office champs of 2012:

1. “The Avengers,” $623 million

2. “The Dark Knight Rises,” $448 million

3. “The Hunger Games,” $408 million

4. “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2,” $278 million (still in theaters)

5. “Skyfall,” $275 million (still in theaters)
