Like resolutions? We don't either! Here are our anti-resolutions!
Enough already with the promises to be leaner, healthier, non-smoking, workout machines in 2013. Let’s be real…it’s cold out, we’re still in the holiday afterglow, and maybe we just don’t want to give up the good times. Well, we hear you. In fact, here are our 5 Great anti-resolutions:
1. Embrace more comfort foods – We’re in the thick of howling winds and snowstorms. Comfort food is a must! Head over to Mama Iguana’s in Springfield and dive into a plate of Mama’s Nachos. Or stop by Uno Chicago Grill by the Basketball Hall of Fame and tuck into the legendary Numero Uno…that’s the deep dish pizza with all the works. Got a sweet tooth? Head up to Richardson’s Candy Kitchen in Deerfield.
2. Shop MORE – Just because the season’s over, there must be more items you wish you had gotten for the holidays? What about that new coat you wanted? Those boots? Take yourself to Lee Premium Outlets in Lee, or head to Northampton’s Thornes Marketplace for another round of retail.
3. Enjoy a good cocktail…within reason, of course – Don’t let the good times stop on New Year’s Day. Head over to Table & Vine in West Springfield and stock up on some terrific wines and liquors to enjoy in the comfort of your home. If you feel like socializing, visit Bistro 63 at the Monkey Bar in Amherst and peruse their menu of scotches, ports and other perfect-for-winter cocktails. Or check out the beer list at the High Horse Brewery, also in Amherst.
4. Sit down more – Exercise has its time and place…like around April. You’re tired from the seasonal madness, so sit yourself down for a great show at CityStage or Symphony Hall in Springfield. Maybe catch one of the top acts at Chicopee’s Hu Ke Lau. Or, if you’d rather be horizontal…book a massage for yourself at renew.calm in West Springfield and let the talented staff take away all your holiday stress.
5. Spend more time on the internet – Keep reading our 5 Great blogs…we’ll keep you up to date on fun events, new attractions and all kinds of happenings in the Pioneer Valley.
