Illness of star Valerie Harper has postponed the production of "Looped" at the Bushnell in Hartford.
The four-time Emmy award winner and Tony award nominee was hospitalized last week for an undisclosed ailment, interrupting rehearsals for the national tour of "Looped." It was to launch its national tour at the Bushnell’s Belding Theater January 24 – February 6; it will now be performed in the venue’s larger Mortensen Hall May 7-12.
“Val is in great spirits and she is getting stronger every day”, playwright and producer Matthew Lombardo said. “She is surrounded by the love and support of her husband and producer Tony Cacciotti, longtime friend and director Rob Ruggiero, and all the wonderful members of our 'Looped.' She is very eager to get back to work!”
All Bushnell patrons who have purchased tickets to "Looped." will receive new tickets.
For the May run, season ticket holders will now have their regular seats on their scheduled performance night or matinee in the Mortensen. Single-ticket buyers will be contacted by the Bushnell box office in the next several weeks and re-ticketed from their Belding seats to comparably-priced seats in Mortensen Hall.
