Ben& Jerry's Greek Frozen Yogurts are the newest line of products from the company.
I wanted to start the year on a healthier kick. First step, try some frozen yogurts instead of creamy, rich, sweet, wonderful full fat ice cream.
I'll confess I'm not a fan of regular yogurt. I hate the tangy, sour taste you get from eating a container of yogurt. It has such a nice consistency just like pudding, so I always think I'm going to like it and then I eat it and realize that yogurt will never be pudding.
So, I decided to got with Ben & Jerry's Greek Frozen Yogurt Banana Peanut Butter flavor for my first Greek frozen yogurt attempt.
I really like bananas and I love peanut butter so I figured I was off to a good start. I bought one of those tiny one-serving size containers and dug in.
At first glance it looks pretty good. You can smell a sweet banana and there is a nice peanut butter swirl right at the top. The smell and the appearance are pretty much the only good things about this frozen yogurt.
I admit the peanut butter swirl was decent. There was a nice sweet and salty taste to it I really liked.
The frozen yogurt itself was relatively creamy, but the taste was off putting. There is a strong smell of banana, but you don't really taste it. I think they tangy yogurt taste unfortunately overpowers this treat.
For those of you who like Greek yogurt this might be worth a shot, but I won't ever be purchasing it again.
I give it two scoops.
