Tickets will go on sale to the general public on February 23.
The MassMutual Center is turning back the clock to the late 1970s and early 1980s when top rock'n'roll acts played the Springfield Civic Center.
Styx, REO Speedwagon and Ted Nugent – three classic rockers that each performed at the Civic Center more than 30 years ago – return to the City of Homes on April 23 at 7 p.m.
Styx and REO Speedwagon will be offering direct-to-fan access to the best seats in the house via their own exclusive fan club pre-sales. Visit StyxWorld.com to join the Styx Lounge for access to exclusive content, ticket pre-sales and VIP packages, and visit facebook.com/reospeedwagon for information on REO Speedwagon's ticket pre-sales.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public on February 23 at 10 a.m. and are priced at $75, $60, $45 and $35. Tickets can be purchased on line at Ticketmaster.com, charge by phone at (800) 745-3000 or at the MassMutual Center Box Office.
“These artists are no strangers to the Springfield market.” says Matt Hollander, general manager of the MassMutual Center “Collectively they have played the old Springfield Civic Center four times in the '70s and '80s so we are happy to welcome them back to Springfield.”
The trio's "Midwest Rock ‘n Roll Express” tour, hailed by Rolling Stone as one of the “10 Hottest Summer Package Tours of 2012,” was such a success that Styx, REO Speedwagon and Ted Nugent have teamed up again for another round of shows beginning April 18 in Grand Forks, North Dakota and concluding May 19 in Burgettstown, Penn.
“Due to the overwhelming success of last year’s tour, we are going to once again wind up the juggernaut of mega-tainment. Styx, REO and the Motor City Madman: there aren’t enough expletives in my vocabulary to explain how great this is…but I’ll try. This is going to be (expletive) awesome!” – Styx guitarist James “JY” Young said in a statement.
REO Speedwagon's Kevin Cronin added, "Time to strap on our six strings, pack up the trucks and tour buses, get together with our best rock buddies and go out to have some big fun.”
Nugent, getting the last word in, told fans "When you live the ultimate American guitar player's dream, with the ultimate grinding band, performing the most intense fun songs in the world to the most enthusiastic audiences alive, every tour and every concert is an indescribable celebration. Styx and REO deserve me. Here we come again baby, like dogs in heat!”
