The pop star will undergo surgery to her right hip.
Lady Gaga has called off the remainder of her Born This Way Ball tour and will undergo surgery.
Among the 21 scrapped dates were stops at the TD Garden in Boston on Feb.27 and the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Conn., on March 3.
"After additional tests this morning to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip caused by strenuous repetitive movements in her performances," according to a statement on her website. "She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover. This unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour, so she can heal."
Ticket holders can receive refunds at point-of-purchase.
On Tuesday, the pop star announced she was postponing several dates this week.
"I've been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for sometime now, over the past month it has worsened. I've been praying it would heal," she tweeted, adding, "After last night's performance I could not walk," she posted on her Facebook page.
The Born This Way Ball tour, which is in support of her 2011 album "Born this Way," began last April in South Korea and was scheduled to end on March 20 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
