It was a surprising fact to learn considering how well-liked he is by designers on, and fans of, "Project Runway" and how that success has made him a more visible and popular celebrity. Gunn, who encourages "Project Runway" designers with his "make it work" mantra, apparently hasn't made it work in the bedroom – by choice.
On an episode in which co-host Dr. Tiffanie Davis Henry, a therapist and relationship expert, declared “Jump-starting your sexy is what we’re focusing on today,” Gunn said:
“I haven’t had sex in 29 years. … Do I feel like less of a person for it? No, not even remotely."
Co-host Dr. Jennifer Ashton, a women’s health expert, said she would have thought there’d be a “line of suitors” available for Gunn.
Indeed, Gunn has always seemed like a genuinely sincere, caring individual in a TV genre – reality shows – that too often seems to attract just the opposite. And until now, at least on "Project Runway," he kept his personal life personal.
Gunn explained on "The Revolution" that he’s quite comfortable with the state of his sex life:
“In all honestly, I’m a perfectly happy, fulfilled individual. And I have feelings. It’s not as though I’m some barren forest.”
When asked why it had been so long, Gunn started choking up and explained that he had been in a long relationship that his partner ended because he had become “impatient” with Gunn’s sexual performance.
