How green is YOUR Valley?...

In the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, let’s salute some wonderful green things found in the Pioneer Valley! Enjoy this weekend’s festivities!

1. Green Grass jar candle at Yankee Candle Village in South Deerfield – Welcome one of the most intoxicating summer scents you can imagine during these chilly days of March. Green Grass smells exactly like a freshly cut lawn. Light one up, and warm weather days won’t seem so far away.

2. Celtics uniforms at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield – You’ll find the shirts of Celtic legends like Larry Bird, Dave Cowens, and Tommy Heinsohn, and thousands of other exciting artifacts, interactive exhibits and more!

3. Peter Pan Motor Coaches – Sit back and let Peter Pan get you where you need to be! Not only are their buses the most energy-efficient mode of transportation, they have received certifications and recognition for their clean engine technology. All Peter Pan vehicles operate using Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel and/or biodiesel fuel, making Peter Pan buses an important part of America’s energy solution.

4. Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory & Gardens in South Deerfield – Sure, you go to see the exotic butterflies, but with all the lush greenery to be found there, Magic Wings makes you feel like you’re in a tropical forest.

5. The crowd at the St. Patrick’s Parade in Holyoke – Of course we have to salute the parade attendees who turn out for the “Wearin’ o’ the Green.” About 400,000 people attend the parade each year, and this one is bound to be special with more than 30 marching bands, bagpipe bands, Mummers, cheerleaders, Melha Shrine clowns, motorcyclists and stunt riders.
