The season opening of Six Flags New England is a month away, but organizers already know how the amusement park will kick up its heels.

InsubordiNation, a Hartford-based performance group have been confirmed as the Agawam amusement park's opening day dance crew.

The diverse dance troupe boasts a variety of  performance styles --  anything from jazz to hip hop or classical to international.

“InsubordiNation is a diverse group of dancers that represent all ages and demographics from throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut. We are really excited to have InsubordiNation perform on the opening day (April 13). They have lots of energy and not only passion for dancing, they support healthy living and will also be performing the largest zumba class at the park this year,” said Jennifer McGrath, marketing manager at Six Flags New England.

Maurice "Reese" Clark, a former Springfield resident, is the artistic director-choreographer of InsubordiNation. He leads a company of 50 dancers ranging from age 12 to 60.

Clark has a wealth of experience in a variety of dance genres and in the past has worked with numerous dance programs throughout Western Massachusetts. He is particularly excited about being the opening act of the 2013 campaign.

“This is a partnership that has never been done before and will definitely set a new trend. To be afforded the privilege to work with Six Flags New England is humbling. The organization has been so hospitable since day one and we appreciate everything they are doing for and with us,” Clark said.

This is not the first time InsubordiNation has appeared at the amusement park. They previously performed a "Thriller"-themed flash mob during Fright Fest last October.

"The crowd loved the 'Thriller' dance and knowing this, it is going to be a great partnership throughout the season,” McGrath said.
