April vacation week is coming fast, and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, one of the Pioneer Valley’s biggest tourist attractions, has a full roster of fun, kid-friendly events on hand…
1. ILZE LUNEAU - MONDAY, APRIL 15 - 1:00pm. Ilze, who has been seen on ESPN, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” and “The Ellen Degeneres Show” among others, is a skilled trick dribbler. On Monday, April 15, she will perform on the Jerry Colangelo Court of Dreams, and her interactive dribbling performance promises to be big fun for the whole family. In fact, Ilze sometimes performs with her own talented daughters.
2. MAGIC DAVE - "BOSTON'S FAVORITE MAGICIAN" - TUESDAY, APRIL 16 - 1:00pm. Magic Dave returns to the Hall of Fame with a high energy, witty performance for kids of all ages. His interactive magic show is filled with such amazing and mesmerizing illusions that he has performed for Mick Jagger, high level CEOs, top athletes and others. 3. NATE "TINY" ARCHIBALD, Member of the HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 1991 - WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17 - 1:00PM. One of the most skilled guards to ever play in the NBA, Tiny Archibald will be hosting a skills clinic on the Jerry Colangelo Court of Dreams that will be free to museum guests. This is a terrific opportunity to see one of the legends of basketball teaching the fundamentals of the game. Following the clinic, there will be an autograph signing and a brief meet & greet. In addition, every museum guest will be given free collectibles from Panini America including NBA Sticker Albums, trading cards, and more.
4. KEVIN OLLIE - THURSDAY, APRIL 18 - 1:00PM. University of Connecticut Men's Basketball Coach Kevin Ollie will be on hand to discuss UConn basketball and his illustrious career in the NBA, playing for teams including the Philadelphia 76ers, Indiana Pacers, and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Don't miss your opportunity to hear Coach Ollie speak on his historic program! Coach Ollie will be available for an autograph signing and meet and greet following his appearance!
5. LUCKY TICKET GIVEAWAY DAY! - FRIDAY, APRIL 19. Come visit the Hall of Fame on Friday, April 19th, and be automatically entered to win prizes! Museum tickets will be marked randomly with winning numbers and symbols for over 50 prizes, ranging from free tickets to the museum to commemorative Hall of Fame memorabilia. At 1:00pm, there will be a Wins4Life Skills Clinic featuring David Vasquenza that will cover not only the fundamentals of basketball, but also key life skills. This energetic and interactive clinic is free to all museum guests.
