The 26-year-old Belchertown resident is a contestant on the FOX reality TV show.
Mary Poehnelt will get to remain in Hell's Kitchen for at least another week, but who knows when and where Chef Gordon's knives with cut next?
The 26-year old Belchertown resident is a contestant on the FOX reality TV show, competing with 19 other promising chefs from across the country to win the affection, if not respect, of Chef Gordon Ramsay.
A butcher at Whole Foods in Hadley, Poehnelt was chosen to take part in season 11 of “Hell’s Kitchen” while she was living in New York.
Ramsay is known for having a tongue as sharp as any knife in his arsenal and he has no compunction about using it to cut to pieces any contestant who fails to pass muster in his kitchen.
In Tuesday's episode, Poehnelt escaped the wrath of Ramsay and moved on to the next round.
The same cannot be said for contestant Danielle Boorn who was lambasted for the sin of sins, presenting under-cooked chicken during the dinner servace portion of the competion.
At episode's end, Boorn was unceremoniously dumped in the figurative compost heap or wherever it is that the Hell's Kitchen rejects end up.
Hell's Kitchen airs Tuesday at 8 p.m.
