Take a look at what can be found behind the curtains and under the stage of Springfield's CityStage.
If you’ve ever dreamed of seeing your name in lights then this photo tour is for you.
While you may not be able to instantly headline your own variety show at a local venue as lovely as CityStage, you can perhaps dream about it while you take a look at what can be found behind the curtains and under the stage of this wonderful Springfield venue.
While the front of the house is always a great place to visit, the average visitor that purchases a ticket for a show may wonder exactly what it is like behind the stage. Are there really stars on the doors of the dressing rooms? Is there a costume department? Where do they keep all that furniture that appears on stage with the performers?
Given full access, I was able to tour the theater with CityStage Technical Director Chad LaBumbard as my guide. Together we plumbed the depths of the storage vaults under the theater seats and made our way through the building to the very top of the metal catwalk. With camera in hand, dressing rooms, the prop closets and the costume room were all part of my visit and can be seen throughout this photo tour.
If there are any venues or buildings throughout the area that you’ve always wondered what it was like inside, please leave a comment below with the location and we will be happy to add it to our list of future photo tours.
