Eight celebrity contestants remain in the season 16 "DWTS" competition.
Halfway through season 16, "Dancing With the Stars" showed funnyman D.L. Hughley the door.
His elimination was based on a combination of viewer votes and judges' scores.
Hughley has ranked low in the eyes of judges since the start of the season and bristled at criticism from lead judge Len Goodman.
Hughley's departure follows the elimination last week of Lisa Vanderpump of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills; " Wynonna Judd, who was eliminated on week 3. Olympic skater Dorothy Hamill dropped out of "DWTS" on March 26, citing health concerns.
The remaining nine "DWTS" contestants are: country singer Kellie Pickler, Disney Channel actress Zendaya, comic Andy Dick; Olympian Alexandra Raisman; reality TV personality Sean Lowe ("The Bachelor"); "General Hospital" actor Ingo Rademacher; boxer Victor Ortiz; and Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones.
