Lasorda entertained his share of celebrities while manager, but appeared perplexed by the Korean pop star.
Perhaps the last two people you could imagine together are legendary baseball Hall of Fame manager Tommy Lasorda of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Korean pop star PSY (of "Gangnam Style" fame). Yet there they were at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday night.
PSY was introduced to the crowd between innings. When his music began playing, he started dancing only feet away from a seemingly befuddled Lasorda (seated at left in video). PSY, playing to the crowd, appeared not to even notice Lasorda.
PSY made his appearance on a night when countryman Hyun-Jin Ryu was the starting pitcher for the Dodgers.
Ryu had a career-best 12 strikeouts in six innings and Hanley Ramirez homered in his first start of the season, leading the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 6-2 win over the Colorado Rockies.
Ryu gave his game-worn jersey to PSY after the game.
"I'm just very thankful the game turned out the way it did," Ryu said through a translator. "It would've been a really different situation if it went the other way. I'm glad he came by."
