This week's episode of Mad Men doesn't have to have the same pace as last week's, but it has some work to do to maintain the momentum built up by the last, outstanding episode.
It's time once again for my astoundingly inaccurate look ahead at the next episode of Mad Men. This week's episode will be titled "Man with a Plan." Let's jump right in to the preview clip and see what information I can fail to pick up.
The theme of this week's preview clip suggests, as we could have expected, that SCDPCCG is going through some growing pains after their exciting merger last week. Peggy (Elisabeth Moss) is going to have to reunite with the staff she left mere months ago, and I imagine things are going to be awkward as she comes back with more power than she had before. She's all over the place in this preview, but I'm not sure she'll have a huge impact on the episode. Someone appears to be getting fired by Roger (John Slattery) about halfway through the clip, and Peggy may have something to do with that, but aside from that it's hard to tell what she's going to be up to.
It also seems like Ted (Kevin Rahm) may be struggling to assimilate into the new agency, or at least SCDP's creative team is going to have a hard time accepting him. We see a bunch of quick cuts of members of the agency getting frustrated or shocked with bad news, and then a shot of Ted looking distressed while Pete (Vincent Kartheiser) gets upset about something. I have to imagine one of Ted's staff members is going to cause a bit of an issue this week.
There isn't much else of substance in this week's preview clip. This week's episode of Mad Men doesn't have to have the same pace as last week's, but it has some work to do to maintain the momentum built up by the last, outstanding episode.
