Giuliana Gelato provides sweet, creamy, wonderful ice cream.
Recently a reader recommended that I swing by Fresh Acres in Sixteen Acres to try Graeter's Ice Cream, a brand based out of Cincinatti, Ohio. My favorite ice cream blogger Dubba from On Second Scoop has given this ice cream really great reviews, so I was looking forward to purchasing it.
I went to the store, picked up a pint of Graeter's chocolate chocolate chip ice cream and headed for the register.
Before making my purchase I was asked to sample some gelato by a very nice employee. Naturally I accepted the offer and I am so glad I did.
Gelato Guiliana is a brand produced in New Haven, Conn. and sold in select stores.
I sampled a few varieties including Lagiuliana which is a combination of espresso ice cream with mascarpone and a chocolate swirl, it was phenomenal. Then a blood orange and raspberry sorbet caught my eye. There was something about the bright pink color that made me go for it.
It is some of the best sorbet I have ever had, creamy and rich and sweet and fruity. I decided to pair it with a scoop of passion fruit peach and the combination brought to mind summertime picnics and trips to the beach.
I highly recommended this top quality treat. The website features 41 flavors as well as a few seasonal flavors. If you're near Sixteen Acres make a quick stop and try this gelato, you won't regret it.
