This year’s carnival features rides provided by Northeast Midways of Coventry, R.I.
ENFIELD - St. Bernard Church once again is holding its annual parish carnival on the grounds of the church, 424 Hazard Ave.
The carnival this year will be held from May 30, through June 1.
The fair will run from 6 to 10 p.m. each day, and admission is free.
In addition, there will be a breakfast in the church's Fitzmaurice Hall on June 2, following the 10:30 a.m. Mass. The winning tickets to the parish's annual raffle will be drawn at the breakfast.
This year’s carnival features rides provided by Northeast Midways of Coventry, R.I. Wristbands will be on sale every evening for $20, entitling the purchaser to unlimited access to the fairground's rides throughout that evening. There also will be individual ride tickets.
In addition, there will be games of skill, a Kiddieland, and other family activities. There also will be a selection of state-sanctioned games of chance on the carnival's midway, including an hourly 50-50 raffle, as well as sealed tickets. There also will be cash bingo games Friday in the church hall.
The fried dough and french fries booth long staffed by parishioners will make its return, and Danny's Pizza will prepare hamburgers, hot dogs, and more every night. There also will be parishioner-staffed booths offering small doughnuts, Italian ices, strawberry shortcake, and sundaes, as well as coffee, soda, beer, and wine.
Prizes to be awarded in the raffle drawing on Sunday are gift certificates of $2,500 to the Shoppes at Buckland Hills, $1,500 to Home Depot, and $500 to Super Stop & Shop. Tickets cost $5 apiece and may be purchased from parish families or at the rectory, as well as at the carnival itself.
There also will be musical offerings throughout the carnival.
