Holly Tucker of Team Blake was sent home.
Amherst resident Michelle Chamuel has earned a spot among the final five contestants on NBC's popular singing competition "The Voice."
On Tuesday night, Holly Tucker of Team Blake was sent home. The Top 5 are Chamuel of Team Usher, Sasha Allen of Team Shakira, Amber Carrington of Team Adam and The Swon Brothers and Danielle Bradbery of Team Blake.
Chamuel told The Republican and MassLive last week that she battled stage fright to pursue her love of music. She has performed with the bands Sidera and then Ella Riot.
She spent her junior year at Amherst Regional High School before moving to Wellesley. She returned to Amherst last year.
Chamuel is the third person with ties to Western Massachusetts to be featured on "The Voice."
Sunderland's Michelle Brooks-Thompson has competed on the popular show as did Shutesbury native Naia Kete.
With her career and "The Voice," Chamuel said, “I take it one day at a time…(when it comes) to expectations and hopes.”
