Michelle Chamuel of Amherst is one of the three finalists on the hit NBC reality series "The Voice."

"It's crazy... My brain is like, 'What's happening?," Chamuel said minutes after the announcement was made on Tuesday night's broadcast. "I'm still in shock."

The season 4 winner will be crowned next week.

Chamuel, 27, first moved to Amherst in 2002 with her mother, Dr. Joalie Davie, and spent her junior year at Amherst Regional High School before moving back to Wellesley. She later attended the University of Michigan.

She returned to town in 2012 and worked at Woodstar Café in Northampton.

On "The Voice," Chamuel has been coached by hip hop star Usher, who has been criticized by Rolling Stone for not understanding Chamuel as an artist and "weighing her down with lots of off-the-beaten-path ballads and mid-tempo songs when she's clearly more electro-pop/rock."

Joining Chamuel in the finals are Danielle Bradbury and the Swon Brothers.

Prior the announcement, Chamuel was given the opportunity to sing "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)" with the band Fall Out Boy.
