If you’ve ever watched even a single episode of Ghost Hunters you know that Grant Wilson is a very large part of the show as a whole.
Beyond just a co-founder of TAPS, Grant has been the steady force behind what, at times, has been a pretty rag-tag team of paranormal investigators. He was the one that always smoothed things over with the team members when they would occasionally screw up and fellow co-founder Jason Hawes would go all fruit-ninja on their scurvy hides. I’m convinced he single-handedly kept Brian Harnois on our television screens 3 times longer than he would have been if it had been just Jason running things and for that, we should all be ever-grateful.
On the mid-season finale’ we were told that Grant will be leaving the Ghost Hunters show. The reaction from the fans was a testament to Grant’s likability on the show. Reactions from fans of the show and even former investigators that he worked closely with were all very touching:
As we move forward there still are many unanswered questions.
Can the Ghost Hunters survive without one of their founders?
If the show does continue, who will step into Grant’s shoes and team up with Jason on each of the investigations?
The TAPS team is pretty much set in their ways of grouping the investigators exactly the same way each week. Personally, I’d love to see Britt Griffith take over the ‘investigating with Jason’ duties. While Steve Gonsalves may have seniority he is just far more suited to staying with David Tango, the two have certainly fallen into a rhythm on the show that everyone enjoys and I think it would be a huge misstep on Syfy’s part to split that up. Britt also has a stronger personality to stand up to Jason’s own really strong personality! I can see those two getting into some really sketchy conversations and situations while stumbling around in the dark with a thermal imager.
