Local fans of "This Old House" will see a recognizable landmark on an episode planned for this fall. Springfield's EcoBuilding Bargains will be featured on the show as part of a crew hired to "deconstruct" a 19th century colonial home in Cambridge. Portions of the shots were filmed at the 20,000 square foot retail space on Warwick Street.

EcoBuilding Bargains sells used, salvaged and surplus home-improvement materials at low prices. The company is an enterprise of the Center for EcoTechnology, a non-profit (501c3) community-based environmental organization.
John Grossman, manager of sales and donations, called the PBS program "the granddaddy of all home improvement shows."
"We love to raise awareness of what we do, and to have a vehicle like that to get our mission out there is just so powerful," he said.
