Scoopful of Ice Cream: Friendly's Forbidden Chocolate review

Friendly's Forbidden Chocolate a ice treat without being too sweet.

I've been experimenting with Greek frozen yogurt lately, which I've decided I hate, and I thought it might be time to review a classic flavor.

I've always been a fan of Friendly's ice cream, in part because I grew up going to the restaurant and because they are a Western Mass. brand, but also because the company makes good ice cream.

I had a hankering for chocolate yesterday and all I had in the fridge was this Forbidden Chocolate ice cream from Friendly's that I bought a while back at Big Y when the were buy one get two free.

I opened up the lid to find a rich chocolate ice cream a little darker than the usual chocolate ice cream I buy.

I was concerned I might not like this ice cream because I've never been a big fan of dark chocolate. Except for Midnight Milky Way Bars, which I love, I don't really eat dark chocolate because I find it to be too bitter.

After the first bite I was pleasantly surprised to find that this ice cream is not bitter at all. Although it's not as sweet as traditional chocolate ice cream, I found this had just the right amount of sweetness.

The ice cream is really creamy and a smooth and was just a perfect dose of chocolate.

I give it four scoops and I will definitely be stocking it in my fridge.
