Tom Ingram will tackle a fairly daunting musical task this weekend when he pays tribute to The Beatles during a performance at Crestview Country Club.
“The toughest part is deciding what material to present and studying the extensive harmonies,” he said. “That has proven to be the most challenging aspect of the show.”
Ingram says the set list will be diverse enough to cover every part of the historic band’s catalog.
“It will consist of many songs that a Beatles fan would expect or hope to hear, but it will also include a handful of some unexpected Beatles gems,” he said. “It is evenly divided among the early, mid and late periods.”The concert at Crestview and the theme both came at the suggestion of Gary B’shara who caters all the events at Crestview.
“He asked me if I’d be interested in presenting a Beatles tribute show,” said Ingram. “Crestview is a great venue because they offer unique opportunities for the public to experience quality dining and entertainment. Kenny Labelle presented his Neil Diamond show at Crestview last year and it was highly successful. Crestview is hoping to recreate these dinner concert themes on a regular basis.”
The lineup for the show consists of the current members of The Tom Ingram Band. That group is made up of John O’Boyle on electric bass and vocals, Joe Boyle on lead guitar and vocals, Chris Ryan on drums, and Tom Kokonowski on percussion. Ingram plays guitar, piano, and handles lead vocals.
“I chose this group of musicians because I am aware of their ability to recreate the sound and vibe of this material,” he said.
Ingram is currently working on material for his fourth album.
“I hope to release it this summer,” he said. “Most of the material that I plan to record will be played live every Saturday night throughout the summer from May to September at Uno’s Summer Courtyard.”
The performance is Saturday and features a buffet-style dinner. For tickets, call (413) 786-2593.
