Who is going to win what at the Oscars this weekend? Find out what Associated Press critics David Germain and Christy Lemire are predicting.
The Oscars are just a few days away and many are making their best guesses as to who will win. Most of the Oscar buzz surrounds the surprisingly popular movie ‘The Artist.’ With nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress and more, this little black-and-white movie has a sure shot of going home with hardware.
Big time movie stars Brad Pitt and George Clooney were nominated for Best Actor for playing struggling father roles --- a far cry from their typically extraordinary characters. Some think Jean Dujardin will take the Oscar in this category for his charismatic work in ‘The Artist.’
There has been a lot of speculation as to why some films were nominated and others left out. ‘Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close’ and ‘War Horse’ for their nominations in Best Picture remain question marks to some why they were included in the Best Picture category.
Another nomination causing a stir is Melissa McCarthy, who gained a nomination for Supporting Actress for her hilarious role in ‘Bridesmaids.’ People agree that it was a largely entertaining role yet some don’t think it was Oscar worthy.
