LOWELL, Mass. (AP) — Novelist Stephen King will be sharing his experiences with creative writing students and later with a wider audience at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell.

The horror-master from Maine is the author of books such as "The Stand," ''The Shining" and "The Green Mile."

King will give a special class for creative writing majors at the university on Friday.

On Friday evening, King and fellow best-selling author Andre Dubus III, who teaches at UMass-Lowell, will share the stage for a conversation about their craft.

At the end of the event, King and Dubus will sign the armchairs they sat in for a raffle to benefit a student scholarship fund.

In October, King made a surprise visit to a Sussex, New Brunswick, high school whose students campaigned for months to get him to visit them by Halloween.
